  • Microfiche is a San Francisco-based, four-piece instrumental outfit – something of a noiserockdanceparty. A Microfiche show delivers a full-on extrasensory experience, drawing diagrams for your ears and mind while keeping your booty shakin’.
  • The band explores themes of sight and sound, pairing a pulsing, dancy beat and heavier, electro-Fugazi-esque breakdowns with unique LED light stage shows and a patented, microfiche machine musical instrument/Midi Controller/Time Twister. The homespun techno-wizardry complements the sound without overshadowing it - conveying what sound looks like, as well as what images sound like.
  • Creatively walking the line between sweet indie melodies, electro-clash dance and adding a dose of metal for good measure, Microfiche has built a distinctive sound and stage experience in an era of sameold rock bands. Bassist Tim Lillis (ex- The Debutantes) and keyboardist Heidi Blobaum (ex-The Gadjits) are founding members of the band, joined by the peerless Atom Ray (ex-Notice) on guitar and the wide-ranging drum stylings of Amol Sogal (ex-Her Majesty,The Stereo Set).
  • Microfiche has been heard throughout the Bay Area, playing for thousands at Maker Faire, opening for Firewater at Bottom of the Hill, headlining a Wiretap Music benefit at Thee Parkside (sic), and playing with local faves French Miami and Hey Three Eyes. In addition to touring to Austin for SXSW, the band is recording an EP, researching the technology for their first video, and writing a musical accompaniment to a series of 20 etchings that convey artist Matt Rebholz’s re-imagining of the Golem story.
